Children’s Privacy & COPPA Policy

Children must not use FITinAI independently. A parent or guardian should choose the programme level, remain present, discuss the lessons and supervise every AI feature. Accounts, newsletter subscriptions, cookie choices and child profiles are for parents or guardians to manage. Children under 13 must not create an account, join the newsletter or accept analytics themselves.

• A first name or nickname and broad age band entered by a parent or guardian.
• Learning progress, quiz answers and results, certificate details and feedback linked to the adult-managed profile.
• Text typed into FIA, its answer, the page path and a random browser-session identifier. FITinAI receives text produced by browser speech recognition, not an audio recording.
• Limited technical information needed to provide, secure and troubleshoot the service.

Parents should use a nickname where possible. Neither adults nor children should submit a surname, email address, phone number, home or school address, school name, precise location, photo, password, health information, family details or any other identifying, sensitive or confidential information to FIA or an AI demo.

Where the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) applies, FITinAI does not ask a child under 13 to register or independently provide personal information. The service is structured for a parent or guardian to provide and control the limited child-profile and learning information described above while using the programme with their child.

If a feature would require verifiable parental consent under COPPA, we will seek that consent before collecting the information unless an exception in the law applies. We will not make a child provide more information than is reasonably necessary to take part. We do not sell children’s personal information, use it for behavioural advertising or allow a child to make personal information publicly available.

A parent or guardian may ask what personal information we hold about their child, review or correct it, request deletion, revoke consent where consent applies, or ask us to stop further collection or use. Email hello@fitinai.com with the subject “Child privacy request”. We may take proportionate steps to verify your identity and authority before acting.

Removing a child profile removes its linked attempts, certificates and feedback, subject to limited backups, security records or legal retention requirements. A parent may also request closure of the adult-managed account.

If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate parental involvement, contact us promptly. We will investigate, stop further collection where appropriate and delete the information when required. Please do not include additional child-identifying information in the report.

We use providers for website hosting, database and authentication, AI responses, email operations, error reporting and consented analytics. FIA prompts may be sent through our AI service to a Google Gemini model, and FIA questions and answers may be retained for authorised safety review and improvement. Providers may process limited information outside your country under applicable safeguards. Children must never treat an AI tool as private or confidential.

Child-profile and learning records are kept while the adult-managed account remains active or until deletion is requested, unless a limited longer period is needed for security, disputes or law. FIA records and provider logs are removed when no longer reasonably needed under operational retention cycles. We use access controls and proportionate technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children receive the heightened protections described in our UK & EU GDPR Policy, including data minimisation, privacy by default, clear information, best-interests consideration and parental authorisation where legally required. A child’s rights belong to the child, although a parent or guardian may exercise them on the child’s behalf when appropriate.
